FROM CHERBOURG
(approx. 200 miles, 4-5 hours)
Head for Valognes on the N13 to Carentan. Take N174 to Saint Lo. Continue on N174 to A84.
Turn right (west)towards Mont Saint Michel. At Avranches pick up N175 signposted Mont St Michel/Rennes.
This road becomes A84 again signposted Rennes. Take ring road around Rennes still heading west and follow
the signs for Lorient on N24. When you get to Baud turn right (north) towards Pontivy. Roughly 8 miles
you will see a signpost for Saint Nicolas des Eaux.
FROM CAEN (OUISTREHAM)
(approx. 200 miles, 4-5 hours)
Head west on A84 for Avranches (signposted Mont Saint Michel). At Avranches follow instructions as from Cherbourg.
FROM ROSCOFF
(approx. 100 miles, 2 hours)
Head for Morlaix, Carhaix-Plouguer. Take N164 signposted Loudeac/Rennes. Continue on N164 towards
Rostrenen and then on to Mur de Bretagne. Now the D767 to Pontivy. From Pontivy take D768 towards
Lorient (later signposted Baud and Auray). After 6-7 miles on the D768 take right exit (signposted
Saint Nicolas des Eaux).
FROM CALAIS/BOULOGNE/CHANNEL TUNNEL
(approx. 400 miles, 6hours)
Take the E402 towards Caen (sign posted Rouen and Le Havre), and from Caen directions as above.
FROM SAINT MALO
(approx. 100 miles, 2 hours)
Head for Rennes on N137. At Rennes follow instructions as from Cherbourg.
FROM DINARD AIRPORT
(approx. 100 miles, 2 hours)
Take the D266 towards Dinan, then the N176, then the D766 (signposted Caulnes and Lorient),
then the D166 towards Saint Meen le Grand, then the N164 to Loudeac, then the D700/768 to Pontivy,
and then as from Roscoff.
FROM LORIENT AIRPORT
(approx. 30 miles, 1hour)
Take the N165 towards Rennes, just after Hennebont take the N24 signposted Baud and Pontivy,
when you get to Baud turn right (north) towards Pontivy. Roughly 3 miles you will see a signpost
for Saint Nicolas des Eaux.
FROM RENNES AIRPORT
(approx. 40 miles, 1hour)
Take the N24 (signposted Lorient), when you get to Baud turn right (north) towards Pontivy.
Roughly 3 miles you will see a signpost for Saint Nicolas des Eaux.
FROM BREST AIRPORT
(approx. 100 miles, 2 hours)
Follow the directions as for Roscoff.
TO THE HOUSE
Turn right when you come into the village with the river on your left. At the end of the main street, with the Hotel de la Vallee on your right, go under the railway bridge and continue on for 100 metres, past the Canoe club and La Maison Magique is the next house on the left. There is ample parking opposite the house.
